What a great day we had today! A beautiful bush walk, and boogie board heaven out at Okiwi Bay. And we are doing it all again tomorrow! A busy couple of days out and about!

We are so glad we got out into our amazing environment before the rain set in this morning!

In the past two days, thanks to Sports Tasman and support from their Tū Manawa programme, we have had so many adventures with some wonderful tamariki and rangatahi leaders. We have camped, bush walked, river swam and played at the beach! Thanks to our leaders - Isaac Cullen, camp and bush walk leader and Grace Wade, Leila Wade and Bailee Herbert - beach leaders - all of you are wonderful role models. Thanks to Mangamaunu Marae for an amazing place to camp - it was magic!

And an acknowledgment that over the last two days we saw a huge amount of positive, kind and helpful behaviour from all the young ones involved - we were so impressed.

For those that were booked into this mornings bushwalk - we are so sorry that the rain got in the way! We are still considering what to do about our Thursday/Friday activities, we'll be in touch. Beach Leader Training!

What a perfect day for our beach leaders to get some snorkelling practice in! A huge thanks from Sean from Dave's Diving and Desiree who came down to give us some tips - it was so cool to have such experienced input. Our beach leaders are confident and ready to lead. We are looking for participants - local Kaikōura kids, aged 8 -13 who are wanting to get into the water snorkelling, boogie boarding or just hanging at the beach. Outdoor Leadership Camp

What a great group of young men on our bushcraft leadership camp! We learnt lots about our native flora and fauna, went walking in the bush and kept an eye on the deer! Watch out for our January opportunities, these guys are going to be helping lead some bushwalks open to 8-12 year olds, sharing some of what they have learnt! Thanks to Sports Tasman, Puhi Peaks (Tim and Peter!) and Clarence River Rafting for lending all the gear!
