Defensive Driving Course

Class 2 licences

CoDriVR

We provide people with the skills and knowledge to gain their learners licences, and progress through their restricted and full licences. Joey Paterson is our local driving co-ordinator, employed by Te Hā o Mātauranga.

Learners Licencing

Joey runs learners licence theory for people who are wanting to sit their licence. This teaches the theory that is needed to pass your learners. It covers all the questions that may come up, Joey will show you simple ways to remember the answers, and there will be practice tests available. Get in touch with Joey to organise time to meet.

Restricted and Full

Joey can help you book the test to sit your restricted and your full licence. She can also help organise the travel to the test if needed and potentially use of our vehicle to sit the test in.

Driving Instructor

Thanks to the Ministry of Social Development for supporting us to train up our very own Kaikōura based, fully qualified and 'I' endorsed Driving Instructor - Robby Roche! We are super pleased to have Robby as part of our team and he is available for lessons every week. Contact Joey (details below) to book in with Robby.

Defensive Driving

Robby has recently completed Defensive Driver facilitator training and will be running regular workshops in Kaikōura! We are stoked to be able to offer this service locally as the benefits from learning advanced driving skills are really important - and it knocks six months off your restricted which is always helpful! Courses will be advertised regularly on our facebook page and you can read more about Rob's training here

Driving Practice

Mike McCann from Blenheim is also avaliable for driving practice through the community driver mentor programme in conjunction with Marlborough Police. 

CoDriVR Driving Simulator

We have recently purchased a driving simulator - CoDriVR! This is a great way for people to get in some driving practice without having to get on the road - perfect for learner drivers putting their theory learning to good use, or for those who are getting ready to sit their learners test.
